This distribution contains a 2.4.5 lib prepared for DGD. DGD itself is not
included; you can ftp it from ftp://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/lpmud/drivers/dgd/

Note that the 2.4.5 mudlib is copyright by Lars Pensj. See the file
2.4.5/Copyright for further information.

 - extract the tarfile. On non-Unix systems, make sure that no newline
conversion is performed! DGD uses LF for newline, rather than following
the DOS text file convention of CR LF, or the Mac convention of CR.
 - Edit the config file lpmud.dgd and set the directory parameter to the full
path of the 2.4.5 directory. On a PC, use either forward slashes (/) or
doubled backslashes (\\). Mac users will also have to change the values
   of ed_tmpfile, swap_file and dump_file.
 - Start the mud by executing the driver binary with "lpmud.dgd" as a
   commandline argument.

The default mud login port is 2000, but this can be changed in the config
file.

If you are using WinNT/95, you may encounter trouble if you edit MUD files
with an external editor. Textpad 2.0 is an editor which respects DGD's
newline convention. It can be found at http://www.textpad.com/

For Macintosh, two good editors for MUD files are Alpha and BBEdit, which are
on all the standard ftp sites.

NOTICE: this is the very last version of the 2.4.5 library adapted for DGD.
Any bugs that remain will not be fixed by me. The mudlib or config file
might not work immediately with DGD versions beyond 1.1.

For using the 2.4.5 lib, you will be better off with LPmud 3.2.1 plus the
unmodified mudlib. If you <have> to use this mudlib with DGD, you're on
your own.
